Captain America Poptab shirt

Took me 6 hours, but finally I am proud to announce that the Captain America poptab promotion shirt has been created!

It wasn't easy lining up all the little layers of vinyl onto the shirt on the heat press.

Im glad I was able to do it perfectly, because I only had enough vinyl to do it right the first time!
These 3 pieces of 12x12in. Red, White & Blue vinyl were all I had left from a prior project from last semester.
They looks pretty cool without combining them!

When using the vinyl machine I was rushed from another student. I wish I had made 3 separate files to cut out instead of cutting out 3 of the same pattern. This meant weeding out all of the little poptab holes on the colors I did not need.

The weeding took the longest part... 3 hours!

This was the easy part. I had pre-created vector poptab shapes.

All I had to do was to copy, paste, and rotate each one into position.

This was the file I used to send to the vinyl cutter to cut out all the pieces.

To make sure I got the right layout I wanted, I took my image into Photoshop and over layed color over the poptabs.

This was the fun part. I used some left over wood from the scrap area. I laser cut the Captain America symbol, that I made, on top of the wood.

I took that home and dumped a bunch of poptabs all over the top.

I carefully arranged the poptabs, spacing them so that none of them touched, and it filled the entire outside circle.

Bullet dog tag USA

First night back at the TECH SHOP!! I've been wanting to make this ever since my break started!
Its a quarter inch clear acrylic dog tag. This one I etched the vertical American flag. I had to cut out a lot of circles to find which circumference is a perfect fit for a 38 special bullet casing.  I pre cut the bullet casing to size.
I like it a lot! and everyone on my Facebook wants one. I really like how there is no glue involved. Its such a super tight fit that the shell isn't going anywhere

Coin cutting

I haven't cut coins in a while, but I have had a few custom orders for a while, so now is a better time than any to get them done, cause I leave for Phoenix tomorrow.
symbol in black is Horse in Kanji. Its for a lady born in the Year of the Horse. The red is copied off a piece of jewelry my mother re-found. Its a sea horse

Not too shabby, but not perfect. I guess that happens when I haven't cut a coin in half a year.
The top two will be filled with a Glow in the dark aqua Strontium Aluminate powder and a clear resin.
The bottom was a pattern I saw on a strangers Instagram. so cool and simple I had to duplicate it.

2nd snake leather cuff

Before I go back to school, I have a second blank snake leather cuff. My new set of leather stamps came in just in time. So I am going to try for a different pattern.

I was really aiming for an actual snake belly. I used the swivel knife to make most of it. I definitely need practice. Also using the stamps to make a layered 3D effect was difficult, either I need better stamps or more practice.
I am not sure if I should continue with this idea of pattern or not.
I really like how it looks when its rolled.
This is what the back looks like

Introduction

Hello! this is my first attempt to categorize everything that I am making while getting my Masters in Industrial Design. I am attending ASU, but a lot of the things I am making have nothing to do with school. Most are creations created out of the stress and pressure from classes and assignments, creating unique lil diamonds at the Tech Shop or at home.

Leather snake cuffs

One of the last things I cut at the Tech Shop.. This winter is my time to play with this idea.

This is where I left off.

I took it to the back yard and tried to stamp something snake like

I like it a lot.. I later went back to the leather store, bought dyes, paints, and sealers. I also found a bunch more stamps on Amazon.com. I really hope I can make this lucrative. I'm going to look at other species of snakes even dragons!

Thin red line shirts, decals

My last day at the Tech Shop before I go home for Winter Break!!  why cant the Tech Shop be in Tucson, Im gonna be super antsy until I go back.
I spent a lot of time making THIN RED LINE, THIN BLUE LINE and EMS Super Hero decals. for Christmas orders.
Making the shirts was Exciting cause I felt like I was doing them for the first time again. Then again these were more difficult than the Ingress shirts because these involved two colors. AND I only had 3 shirts, I could not mess up on either of them. I had to get it right 3 times.
The Thin Blue Line Super man shirt was the first one I did.

The second shirt was the Thin Red Line

Third and mostly scary was the EMT/EMS super hero shirt. The serpent over laps a star and a stripe. It was rumored that the vinyl would still stick but I wasn't 100% sure.

But it did!  Also the shirt is Navy, but it looks black.

Also I cut out this frame out of styrene that I found in the trash. Perfect for what I needed
I made this to fit 60 poptabs. This will allow me to polish 60 poptabs at once instead of one at a time.  AMAZING IMPROVEMENTS!

*SNEEK PEEK* I was also able to laser cut out two snakes out of leather to try out a new project during my break
